911 Tapes Released From Powell House Explosion [VIDEO]

Authorities in Washington state released the 911 calls after Josh Powell, who was suspected in his wife’s disappearance, blew up his house, killing himself and his two kids.

FOX News Radio’s Jane Metzler reports:

Audio clip:

(Social Worker)”He blew up the house and the kids.”

A Washington state social worker calling 911 Sunday. She was supposed to supervise Josh Powell’s visit with his two young sons.

(Social Worker)”They were one step ahead of me, they’re five and seven. They were one step ahead of me and he slammed the door on my face.”

The woman also calling her supervisor reporting the smell of gas. Then, she says, the house blew up in a fiery explosion.

Authorities say Powell planned it all, also attacking his boys with a hatchet. They suffered chop wounds to the head and neck.

Funeral services for the brothers set for Saturday.
