AEHQ: Santorum Sweeps

It was a sweep for Rick Santorum on Tuesday night. The Republican presidential candidate won the caucuses in Colorado and Minnesota, as well as the primary in Missouri. All three of Tuesday’s caucuses/primary – Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri – are non-binding, meaning no delegates will be awarded to candidates directly from these results.

FOX News Radio’s Hank Weinbloom reports:

Audio clip:

It was a trifecta for Rick Santorum, wins in the Colorado and Minnesota caucuses and the Missouri primary.

(Santorum)”Tonight was not just a victory for us, but tonight was a victory for the voices of our party.”

Santorum upsetting Mitt Romney in Colorado, a state he was was widely expected to win.

(Romney)”I look forward to the contests to come.”

For Ron Paul, a second place finish in Minnesota.

(Paul)”Believe or not we did very well tonight.”

But the night belonged to Santorum.

(Birnbaum)”A victory in three states by Rick Santorum makes him the major alternative to Mitt Romney.”

FOX News Radio political analyst Jeff Birnbaum.

Newt Gingrich, pretty much a non-factor .

I don't get it, what are we doing? Do we not want to beat Obama anymore? We have a chance to actually get into the White House again and, we are going with a self-serving Washington, "business as usuall" guy in Gingrich, An elitist who has never stood firmly on anything, including his own convictions in Romney and a ultra religious nut in Santorum! Does anyone actually believe that this triad of gloom can beat the Dapper Dan of the white house? We need to listen to what the independents and even some of the Democrats(who want Obama out)…we can't capture their votes with the three guys we are pushing and without those votes we have already lost! Both, Rick Perrry and Ron Paul could've been those guys, now we are down to Ron Paul! Ron Paul is the only one left who can reach across the divider and capture the Independents and fed-up Dem's! Think hard America, we are about to blow it all on three lame ponys.
