Growing Number of Syrian Refugees Flee to Turkey [VIDEO]
There are now 20,000 Syrians who have fled the violence in their country to Turkey and officials are bracing themselves for more.
FOX News Radio’s Emily Wither reports from a refugee camp on the Turkey-Syria border:
Yayladagi 1 is about 20 kilometers from the Syrian border. There are about seven camps in this area of Turkey, providing everything from meals to schooling for the families that end up here. Suphi Atan head of the Foreign Ministry’s task force says home is never far from their minds.
(Atan) “Their relatives still are in Syria and they are watching television every day, every hour.”
This woman arrives nine days ago after government forces attacked her at home, and she doesn’t like staying in the camp either.
The kids here don’t sing nursery rhymes they sing songs of the revolution they left behind.
This girl says she will join the Free Syrian Army.
