Space Shuttle Discovery Makes Final Flight [VIDEO]
Space Shuttle Discovery made its final flight Tuesday. The orbiter hitched a ride with a 747 from the Kennedy Space Center to Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia. The shuttle will be on exhibit in the Smithsonian.

The Discovery, the oldest orbiter in NASA’s fleet, having flown into space 39 times, took off heading southbound, and then in a tributary fly-over with a very low altitude of about 1,500 feet.
Thousands of tourists gathered to take photos and see the Discovery make a final farewell to the state which has poured so many years of hard work and money into it.
And it is the first museum, the Smithsonian to now have one of the orbiters on display. It will be open to the public beginning on Friday.
