IL Mayor Sets Up Gas Boycott in Town
The Mayor of one Chicago suburb is mad about skyrocketing gas prices, and is asking his constituents to do something about it.
FOX News Radio’s Jennifer Keiper reports from Chicago:
Audio clip:
Tim Baldermann is the Mayor of New Lennox, a Chicago suburb. He says the gas stations in his town have been charging 12 to 20-cents more than those in neighboring communities and…
(Baldermann) “I had talked to the corporate offices for Speedway and BP and asked them to do something about it. They refused, so we had to take matters into our own hands.”
So the Mayor, on Monday, asked residents to boycott the local gas stations. Since then…
(Baldermann) “Now we are the same, or a penny or two lower. So, we’ve seen significant changes.”
Speedway tells the “Herald News” the only comment it has is that it’s committed to providing the best quality product at the best pricing.
