Bringing High-Speed Trains to America, But at What Cost? [VIDEO]
It’s supposed to be the nation’s first high-speed rail system, but is the cost to taxpayers simply too high to really make it feasible?
FOX’s Ainsley Earhardt reports:

A private company, Desert Xpress, wants to be the first to bring high-speed rail to the U.S., but the 150mph train will cost taxpayers $5 billion to build. Some say it’s the “fail rail,” the “train to nowhere.”
The company anticipates riders will drive 90 miles outside of L.A., mark in the middle of the Mojave Desert, pay about $100, hop on the train and ride the rest of the way – 180 miles – to Vegas. The loan will come from the Federal government, which has about $35 billion allocated for our country’s railroads, but concerns still linger: Will the company, Desert Xpress, make enough money to pay back the billions of dollars borrowed from the government?
