Housecall For Health: Sunburn Science
Researchers have figured out why skin cells react to the sun’s rays, causing sunburn.
FOX’s Colleen Cappon has more in today’s edition of Housecall For Health:

Summertime means spending more time outside, which can mean more sunburns. Researchers at the San Diego School of Medicine have discovered the molecular signal that triggers sunburns. When the sun’s rays hit the skin, RNA inside cells is damaged, causing surrounding healthy cells to try and remove them, and become inflamed. Skin Cancer occurs when these damaged cells aren’t cleared out, and build up.
