US Navy Fires at Boat in Persian Gulf Waters [VIDEO]
An American vessel opens fire in the Persian Gulf after a small boat ignored warnings.
FOX News Radio’s Steve Taylor reports from Washington:
Fast boats from Iran sometimes harass U.S. shipping in the Persian Gulf, so when a small vessel came too close to the Navy refueling ship Rappahannock off Dubai near the port of Jebel Ali, the tanker ordered the vessel to move away.
Pentagon officials say the boat stayed close, so sailors on the Rappahannock opened fire with a .50 caliber machine gun, killing one person and wounding three others on the boat. The officials say the fired-upon vessel didn’t appear to be military. They haven’t said what country it came from.
