Ann Romney, Chris Christie Headline RNC Day 2 [VIDEO]
From gentle to up-front, in-your-face politics, the headliners ran the gamut Tuesday night at the Republican National Convention. Ann Romney’s love-themed speech ended with her husband, Mitt Romney – who was chosen as the Republican nominee earlier in the day – joining her on-stage. She was soon followed by the night’s Keynote speaker, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
FOX News Radio’s Eben Brown has the highlights from the Tampa Bay Times Forum:
The GOP Keynote speaker, New Jersey’s Chris Christie, pulled out laughter and applause from the crowd.
(Gov. Christie) “This stage, and this moment, are very improbable for me – a New Jersey Republican!”
But tonight, hearts may have been won by the woman Republicans hope will be the next First Lady. Ann Romney talked of the Mitt Romney she met, and who took her to a dance, started a family with her.
(Romney) “This man will not let us down. This man will lift up America.”
Romney will formally accept his nomination Thursday night.
