Governor Scott Walker (R-WI), talked to Brian about the latest news coming out of the destruction in Oklahoma.  He explained that as a governor, “you feel all the angst and you try to be strong for everybody else.”  Walker also weighed in on the IRS and its impact on the 2012 presidential election.

Rick Couri, reporter for FOX News Radio affiliate KRMG in Oklahoma, called in and spoke with Brian and Oscar Goodman, former mayor of Las Vegas and author of Being Oscar: From Mob Lawyer to Mayor of Las Vegas, about the destruction in Oklahoma.  Couri said he was standing in front of Plaza Tower Elementary School, where a search is underway for 40 missing children. “I do not think there is going to be any hope,” Couri exclaimed, “I don’t think there’s any chance that they’re going to find anybody inside their alive.”

THIS GIRL IS ON FIRE!  Fox’s Jennifer Griffin SOUNDED OFF on the fact several Fox reporters and producers have been investigated by the Justice Department.  Here is just a sampling of what she said to Brian during her weekly segment on Kilmeade and Friends:

  • Why suddenly are they leaking more of these national security type cases?  To have…a chilling effects on the press…it’s forcing all of to have to get lawyers and consulting as to how to do our business, which is to cross check facts and to talk to people and see what is going on…and we are busy now having to lawyer up, having to talk to people and making our sources more and more nervous to talk to us.  That is not right.  That is intimidation. 
  • If anything, THEY JUST MADE JAMES ROSEN A ROCK STAR.  He always wanted to be a Beatle, and now he is a rock star! 
  • They [the American people] want us to ask tough questions…everybody wants to be mad at the press that they didn’t ask enough questions going into the Iraq war about WMDs we were suppose to just accept intelligence at that time that was handed out by the government.  So you talk to sources and you are supposed to cross check things and suddenly you are breaking the law.  That doesn’t cut it in terms of protecting the press in this country.  It reminds me of when I lived in Moscow and the Kremlin was trying to control what we were doing!
  • Now to be coming after the press as co-conspirators, that is an overstep like we have never seen in this country! 
  • [talking about Jay Carney] The journalists who become spokesmen are the worst.  They don’t remember their roots, they don’t remember their ethics what the press is supposed to do and suddenly they are the biggest benders of truth!

“What kind of culture exists that the president is the only person in the administration that did not know that conservative groups were being targeted?” Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) joined the show and talked to Brian about the ongoing IRS scandal, and how poorly the administration has handled it.  He raised the question, “If you know, that improper, illegal conduct is taking place in one of your agencies, why in the world would you wait until an inspector general ends his or her investigation to stop the practice?”

Floyd Abrams, staunch defender of the FIRST AMENDMENT and author of Friend of the Court: 9on the Front Lines with the First Amendment joined Brian IN STUDIO and offered up his expert analysis on the DOJ investigating Fox’s own James Rosen.  Abrams explained Rosen’s situation, “Really breaks the sound barrier.  It is one thing to subpoena journalists—journalists can go to court, they can fight back, they can get a judge to decide—but to say that a journalist has committed a criminal act for committing an act of journalism for really asking questions of a source.  To say that in a document filed in a court is really outrageous and a matter of real concern because this breaks all the old rules of how the dance sometimes between the government and the press is played.”  Abrams continued, “If asking someone in the government questions, even about classified material, and asking the questions is itself a crime, then WE ARE IN A VERY DANGEROUS STATE THAT WE HAVE NEVER BEEN IN BEFORE IN THIS AREA!”

A deadly, devastating tornado struck the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore, Oklahoma on Monday, destroying homes and schools and killing at least 24 people. Emergency crews are currently on scene, searching for survivors of the storm who may be trapped in the rubble.

The National Weather Service says the tornado that hit Moore was a top-of-the-scale EF-5 twister with winds of at least 200 mph. It was 1.3 miles wide, and went on a 17 mile long path of destruction.

President Obama declaring the people of Moore, Oklahoma face a long road ahead, but one they will not walk alone. The President received a briefing on the Oklahoma response just before making public remarks from the White House.

(President Obama) “As a nation our full focus is on the urgent work of rescue and the hard work of recovery and rebuilding that lies ahead.”

The President dispatched the Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency to the scene, and late Monday, he signed a disaster declaration.

Jodi Arias, who was convicted of murdering her ex-boyfriend has changed her mind about wanting to die. She spoke to the jury Tuesday, asking for life in prison.

Jodi Arias told the jury she thought she wanted to die and can’t believe she’s now asking them to spare her life.

(Arias) “But as I stand here now I can’t in good conscience ask you to sentence me to death. Because of them.”

She looked over and pointed to her family members.

(Arias) “Asking for death is tantamount to suicide.”

She said she’d start a book club and a recycling program in prison. And then showed pictures of her with her family and friends. She called killing Travis Alexander the worst mistake of her life and that she’s to blame for all the pain his family and hers feel. As she spoke, some members of Alexander’s family cried but others looked angry.

Super Bowl L, the 50th anniversary of the Super Bowl, will be heading to northern California in 2016.

San Franciso, or rather, the San Franciso Bay Area, will play host to the 50th Anniversary Super Bowl. Daniel Lurie headed up the Bay Area’s bid. He tells the NFL Network:

(Lurie) “This is going to be the most innovative, technologically advanced Super Bowl the NFL has ever seen.”

Because they’re partnering with tech giants like Apple, Google, and Yahoo.

The game will be played in 2016 in the San Francisco 49ers new stadium in Santa Clara. 

The NFL also awarding the 2017 Super Bowl to Houston.
